Amex offers flexible $250 statement credit for ADT home security purchase

American Express cardholders are seeing a targeted ADT deal that offers a one-time $250 statement credit after $250 in qualifying spending on new residential home security equipment and installation. The offer applies to purchases made through adt.com, the mobile app or by phone with an ADT representative, and must be used by November 3, 2026.

The current version appears looser than some earlier ADT promotions. Doctor of Credit noted that previous offers commonly carried a 36-month service commitment and sometimes required use of a special Amex link, but those conditions are not mentioned here. That leaves some uncertainty over what will qualify, particularly whether the credit could apply to existing service payments or to standalone equipment purchases, such as connected devices.

ADT has appeared in a number of other Amex offers over the years, usually with spending thresholds tied to statement credits. Recent examples have included hotel, airline and vacation-rental deals from American Express, such as offers on Waldorf Astoria, Conrad and LXR properties, Virgin Atlantic flights, Delta Air Lines tickets and Homes & Villas by Marriott stays. In each case, the value of the offer depended heavily on whether the cardholder already had planned spending in that category.

For consumers considering the ADT promotion, the main question is whether the offer can be used as a genuine discount on a new security installation or merely as a rebate on spending already planned. As with most targeted Amex Offers, the practical value is highest for cardholders who were already likely to buy, rather than those changing their behaviour solely to capture the credit.
