Apple prepares for one of its most ambitious autumn product launches in years, featuring a foldable iPhone Ultra, upgraded Apple Watch models, and new home devices, signalling a significant shift in its hardware strategy.
Apple is preparing what could be one of its most crowded autumn product cycles in years, with reports pointing to a mix of iPhones, wearables and home devices. The strongest attention is on a foldable iPhone, widely expected to be positioned as a new premium tier above the company’s current flagship models. According to Tom’s Guide and other leak round-ups, Apple may use the event to reset part of its launch schedule, while the standard iPhone 18 could slip to early 2027.
The foldable model, often referred to as iPhone Ultra, is being described as a book-style device with a large inner display and a smaller outer screen. Reports vary slightly on size, with estimates ranging from about 7.6 to 7.8 inches inside and roughly 5.3 to 5.5 inches on the cover display. Several outlets also say the device could use a high-end A20 Pro chip, with pricing likely to start well above Apple’s current top-tier phones and possibly near or above $2,000.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to receive more measured upgrades. Reported changes include a smaller Dynamic Island, a variable-aperture main camera and the same A20 Pro processor family, with some sources also saying the Pro Max may gain a slightly larger battery. MacRumors has also reported talk of a simplified Camera Control button, a new dark red colour option and Apple’s C2 modem with satellite-related support.
Apple’s wearables are also said to be due for revision. Apple Watch Ultra 4 and Apple Watch Series 12 are both expected to focus on faster silicon, more efficient power use and updated sensors, with some reports mentioning possible blood pressure monitoring and Touch ID, though those features remain disputed. Tom’s Guide and MacWorld say Apple may also adjust the band attachment system and use ceramic cases, which would mark a more substantial hardware rethink than the iPhone range is likely to see this year.
Beyond phones and watches, Apple is also rumoured to be lining up a new Apple TV 4K, a refreshed HomePod mini and a smart home hub that could be called HomePad or HomePod Touch. The home device is described as a 7-inch screen with a camera and a new homeOS software layer, combining smart speaker, display and Home hub functions in one product. That push would fit Apple’s broader effort to deepen its position in the home, especially as future Siri upgrades and Apple Intelligence features become more central to the company’s product story.
