Arlo is selling two Wi-Fi security camera kits on Amazon at the same €99 price, but the deciding factor is battery life rather than headline features. The Essential HD XL package includes 2 cameras, while the standard Essential HD bundle offers 3, giving buyers a choice between longer endurance and wider coverage.
According to Arlo’s product information, the XL version is built around a higher-capacity battery and is designed to run for as long as 16 to 24 months on a charge under typical use. The standard Essential model is rated at about 4 months, which still suits routine home monitoring but means more frequent recharging. Arlo’s support material notes that real-world battery life can vary depending on temperature, lighting and Wi-Fi conditions.
Both kits record in Full HD 1080p and include colour night vision, a 130-degree field of view, motion detection and a built-in siren. Arlo also says the cameras support two-way audio, so users can speak to visitors or warn off intruders through the app. The cameras connect directly to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi without a separate hub and are suitable for indoor or outdoor use thanks to weather resistance.
