Ring’s Intercom Audio device is now available on Amazon for €39.99, half its usual price, offering a do-it-yourself, app-controlled upgrade to existing intercom systems, with limitations on recording features without subscription.
Ring Intercom Audio is currently being sold on Amazon for €39.99, a sharp reduction from the €79.99 list price shown on Ring’s own product pages. The device is designed to turn a conventional building intercom into a connected system, allowing residents to answer calls on a smartphone, speak to visitors through two-way audio and unlock the entrance remotely through the Ring app. Ring says the product is intended for people who want more convenience without replacing the existing installation.
The appeal is largely practical. Ring’s official material says the unit supports virtual keys for family members and trusted contacts, with access that can be scheduled or withdrawn at any time. It also works with Alexa, so compatible devices can be used to answer the intercom or trigger opening by voice. That makes it more of an access-management tool than a full video doorbell replacement.
Installation is another selling point. Ring says the system is built for do-it-yourself fitting and does not require permanent changes to the existing intercom, which is why it is often presented as suitable for renters. Before buying, however, users still need to check compatibility with Ring’s official tool, since not every intercom model is supported.
There are limits to what the device does without extra payment. Ring says recording and storing conversations or visitor voice messages for up to 180 days requires a separate Ring Home subscription. Independent reviews from TechRadar suggest the product is valued mainly for its simplicity and usefulness in flats, though it does not provide the video features or broader surveillance functions found in video doorbells. The current discount is notable because Ring’s own pages indicate that this type of pricing is usually reserved for major sales periods such as Prime Day or Black Friday.
