Rithum has launched a new mobile app that enhances its wall-mounted heating system, offering homeowners remote management of heating, cooling, and hot water with local scheduling capabilities, ensuring continuous operation even without internet connectivity.
Rithum has launched a new smartphone app that lets homeowners manage heating, cooling and hot water from an iPhone or Android device, extending the company’s wall-mounted control system into mobile use without adding new hardware. The Rithum Home app mirrors the interface of the in-wall Rithum Stat, with each zone showing its own temperature setpoint and seven-day timetable.
The app also carries over the system’s Home, Away and Holiday modes. According to Rithum, those modes can be applied across an entire property while still being configured separately for each zone, giving installers and end users more granular control over different parts of a home.
A key technical point is that scheduling remains local to the Rithum Switch rather than relying on the cloud. That means heating control should continue to function even if internet service fails, a design choice that distinguishes the platform from cloud-dependent smart home systems. The launch is initially centred on Rithum Stat control, with more functions expected in later updates.
Rithum is also pairing the app with My Rithum, a client-facing portal intended to give homeowners access after installation while allowing installers to keep project control. The company says installers can invite owners into the system once a job is complete, while configuration, specification and job management stay in the Rithum Project Portal. My Rithum additionally adds backup and restore tools, allowing a Switch configuration to be saved, restored to the same unit or moved to a replacement, and reused as a template for future installations. Company founder and chief executive Ryan Ovens said: “Every client asks for an app, and until now the honest answer was either no or a second system alongside the one you have just installed”. He added: “This is the Rithum Switch in your pocket, and it’s included. The room still runs from the wall, as it always has; the app is simply for the times you are not standing in front of it.”
