Sequel Brands and GE Lighting link wellness platform to reimagine smart home routines

Sequel Brands’ new MOVE platform partners with GE Lighting to integrate personalised coaching with connected home environment controls, aiming to support healthier daily routines through innovative smart home features.

Sequel Brands has linked its new MOVE digital wellness platform with GE Lighting, a Savant company, in a partnership that aims to make healthy routines easier to maintain by tying coaching software to the physical environment at home. The companies say the collaboration is intended to support movement, recovery and sleep by using connected lighting, shades and climate controls to shape daily habits.

MOVE is Sequel Brands’ first digital wellness platform and its sixth brand, according to the company. It offers AI-driven coaching, personalised workouts, recovery guidance, nutrition support and daily accountability. The platform is available on iOS and Android for $5 a month or $25 a year, with Sequel positioning it as a tool for people who want structured guidance without needing a strong fitness background.

Alex Isaly, president of MOVE and AI digital experience at Sequel Brands, said the tie-up reflects a shared belief that surroundings influence behaviour. In a statement, he said the goal is to help people build routines and spaces that support better health every day. The company’s argument is that wellness is not limited to exercise sessions or diet plans, but also depends on the cues people receive from their homes.

GE Lighting is extending that idea through its Cync smart home products. According to the announcement, users can create different lighting scenes for morning activity, post-workout recovery or bedtime preparation, while also adjusting shades and climate settings. Craig Spinner, executive vice president of marketing at GE Lighting, said the environment people live in has a direct effect on how they feel, sleep, work and recover, and that combining the app with home automation can reduce friction in daily routines.

The partnership also fits into Savant’s broader strategy for GE Lighting, which it acquired in 2020 as part of its push into intelligent lighting. GE Lighting has since broadened its smart home range, including the Proseo line of smart lights and shades unveiled at CES 2025. The new alliance suggests the company sees wellness as a next step in smart home design, not just lighting control.
