Adobe has redesigned Photoshop’s interface to integrate its growing suite of AI features into a unified, more accessible workspace, reflecting its shift towards conversational editing and faster workflows.
Adobe has reworked Photoshop’s interface to place its artificial intelligence tools in a single, more accessible workspace, in a move that reflects how central generative features have become to the software. According to MacMagazine, the redesign centres on an assisted workspace with a chat bar that lets users describe edits in natural language, bringing multiple AI functions together in one place rather than scattering them across menus.
The change fits Adobe’s broader shift towards conversational editing. In March, the company said its AI Assistant in Photoshop would let users request changes such as removing distractions, changing backgrounds and adjusting light simply by typing what they want. Adobe has also continued expanding the desktop version with newer controls, including the ability to choose between Adobe Firefly and partner models when generating images, plus tighter links to Firefly Boards for collaborative work.
That wider rollout suggests Adobe is trying to serve two groups at once: newcomers who may be unfamiliar with Photoshop’s deeper toolset, and experienced users looking to move faster through routine tasks. Vivian Kuppermann, senior marketing manager at Adobe Brazil, told MacMagazine that the company sees the redesign as a way to make the software easier to approach while still supporting advanced workflows.
Recent Photoshop updates have also focused on speed and file organisation, with Adobe highlighting tools such as Find Distractions, improved reflection removal, automatic Layers panel clean-up and clearer layer naming. The assisted workspace is now available to desktop subscribers, according to MacMagazine, although Adobe has not yet said when it will arrive on mobile.
