Google makes Gemini access a sharper divide between One tiers

Google’s revamped One plans increasingly use storage, usage caps and exclusive Gemini tools to steer users towards its pricier AI subscriptions.

Google’s paid One subscriptions are becoming increasingly tied to its AI software, with the cheapest Basic and Standard plans still serving mainly as storage upgrades, while the higher tiers now bundle in a wider set of Gemini features. According to Google’s plan overview, the newer AI-branded subscriptions are designed to combine cloud storage with access to more capable models, higher usage caps and deeper integration across Google’s own apps.

At the entry level of the AI range, Google AI Plus offers 400GB or 2TB of storage and doubles Gemini usage compared with users without a plan. Google says it also restores access to Flash models, adds more credits and functionality in Google Flow, expands Gemini support in Gmail, and relaxes some restrictions in Gemini Notebook. The company’s support material and plan pages indicate that these benefits are aimed at users who want more AI access without moving to the most expensive tiers.

Google AI Pro, which comes with 5TB or 10TB of storage, pushes those limits higher again. Google says the plan gives users four times the Gemini usage of free accounts, along with the Gemini 4 Argon model and a larger context window. It also includes Deep Research, which can pull in more sources and make use of information stored in a user’s Google account, plus additional AI tools inside Docs, Slides and other Workspace apps. Google’s support pages for the plan also list capabilities such as AI Mode features, stronger limits in Google Earth, broader use in Flow and Google Antigravity, and AI-powered calling for local businesses.

At the top end, Google AI Ultra is built for power users who need still more capacity. Google says the 20TB Ultra plan raises Gemini usage to five times the Pro tier, while the 30TB version increases it to 20 times Pro and offers the fewest restrictions in Flow and Notebook, together with access to the company’s best models. Google’s support pages also describe Ultra as the highest-access tier, with prioritised traffic and early access to new models. Android Central reported that Google is also preparing further changes to the lower-priced AI Plus tier from November 13, 2026, including the removal of Gemini Pro model access in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Google Search, which would leave Pro as the main route to those tools.
