The popular image viewer ImageGlass releases its most significant overhaul yet, now supporting Windows, macOS, and Linux with enhanced features including native HDR support and a new plugin SDK.
ImageGlass has undergone its biggest overhaul yet, with version 10 recast as a cross-platform application for Windows, macOS and Linux. According to the company’s announcement, the viewer has been rebuilt from the ground up on .NET and Avalonia, replacing its earlier Windows-specific foundation with a single codebase that now runs natively on all three desktop operating systems.
The new release keeps the app’s familiar minimalist focus, but it also expands the feature set. ImageGlass says version 10 adds native HDR image support, an integrated SVG rendering engine, plugin extensibility and noticeably faster startup times. The software remains free in the form of ImageGlass Classic, while a paid ImageGlass Pro tier adds advanced tools and management features.
Those Pro additions include a live HDR Tone Mapper, free and margin panning, File Watcher, custom mouse click remapping, settings locking for managed deployments and feature locking on shared devices. The official pricing is a one-off $14.90 for Individual use, with Team and business options priced higher for broader or commercial deployment.
The update follows a series of beta releases that also introduced a new plugin SDK, support for multi-frame formats, shell thumbnails, motion photos and improved scaling. The developer has also warned users to back up configuration files before upgrading, as settings names have changed in the new version.
