Peresoft enhances cash management support with AI-driven self-service tools

Peresoft introduces an AI help bot and revamped website features to streamline routine queries and empower customers with greater control over cash management tasks, signalling a shift in enterprise support strategies.

Peresoft has widened the support and self-service functions around its cash management products, adding an AI help bot inside the Cashbook, RecXpress and EFTXpress web interfaces so users can resolve routine queries without waiting for staff or office hours. The company has paired that with a rebuilt website that includes a bank-format matching tool and a broader portal for generating invoices, quotes and licences at any time.

The strategy reflects a deliberate choice to use artificial intelligence around the software rather than inside the core accounting tools themselves. According to Peresoft managing director Bobby Perel, the company sees AI as a way to improve how customers use mature products, not as a substitute for the underlying application logic. That distinction matters for a business whose main products have been developed over several decades and are already established in financial operations.

The new in-product assistant draws on a long-running support archive rather than on open web data. Peresoft says it has maintained a structured forum since 2003, creating a large repository of verified answers that can be searched and reused. The system uses retrieval-augmented generation, a method that pulls from a maintained knowledge base before the language model drafts a response. If the first answer is incomplete, it can broaden the search across several attempts before passing the issue to human support.

Peresoft has also embedded the same assistant into its support forums, where it can suggest an instant answer as soon as a thread is posted. Wayne Roach, senior analyst at Peresoft, said the bot would have taken months to build conventionally but was completed in less than a day with AI assistance. That acceleration underlines a broader shift in enterprise software support, where the value of AI often lies in reducing wait times and repetitive admin rather than replacing specialist knowledge.

The rebuilt site adds another practical tool in the form of a Format Finder, which helps users identify whether a bank file is already supported for EFT or reconciliation work. Peresoft says its library contains more than 440 EFTXpress and RecXpress formats across multiple countries, many of them not available through public search. Users can upload a sample file, check for a match immediately and, if needed, submit the documents required for Peresoft to create a new format.

The wider website refresh also lets customers generate invoices, quotes and licences on their own, which should reduce dependence on business-hours support. For a customer base spread across Africa and other regions, the main benefit is simple: fewer delays, less manual follow-up and more control over routine tasks.
