Rockstar Games is set to give Grand Theft Auto VI its next public showing with “An Extended Look” on August 27, and the company is using Netflix for a six-hour timed premiere before the footage moves to Rockstar’s own channels. GamesRadar, Windows Central and T3 all reported the same rollout, with the reveal scheduled for 3 p.m. Eastern time on Netflix and 9 p.m. Eastern on Rockstar’s YouTube channel and website.
The unusual window has drawn widespread scepticism, with players and commentators questioning why a trailer needs any exclusivity at all. GamesRadar said the reaction online has focused on Rockstar’s growing commercial reach, while some fans fear the move could signal a more aggressive approach to monetisation around the game itself.
That concern sits alongside already heightened expectations for a title that has become one of the industry’s most watched releases. According to GamesRadar’s guide to GTA 6, the game is due on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, after a delay from an earlier target of May 2026. The same guide says Rockstar has already set the standard edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99, with pre-orders opening on June 25.
