Samsung’s One UI 9 update introduces advanced AI features and security enhancements to Galaxy S26 series

Samsung begins rolling out One UI 9 to its Galaxy S26 series, featuring innovative AI tools, improved security, and productivity updates, starting with South Korea and expanding globally.

Samsung has started rolling out One UI 9 to its Galaxy S26 series, bringing the software first to the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra before widening it to the newly launched Galaxy S26 FE. The update follows its initial debut on Samsung’s latest foldables, including the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8, as the company continues to push the same software experience across more of its device range.

At the centre of the release are new Galaxy AI features aimed at everyday use. Samsung says My FanCam can isolate a chosen subject from wide-angle video and reframe it into different aspect ratios, while Now Brief and Now Nudge expand the company’s personalised summary and suggestion tools with more editable information cards and more context-aware prompts. The rollout is based on Android 17 and includes the September 2026 security patch, according to Samsung and reports from SamMobile.

The update also sharpens Samsung’s communication and productivity tools. Interpreter Thread View adds a chat-style transcript of translated conversations, while Voice Recorder Summaries turns spoken recordings into structured notes with headings and tables. Document Scan has been improved to flatten curved pages and correct bent edges more effectively, reducing the need for manual editing when capturing books and printed material.

Security is also a major part of the package. Samsung has added Security Brief, which groups malware warnings and other threat notifications with Privacy Alerts, while its scam call detection is now being extended to users in Japan, Canada and India. Samsung said the stable rollout began on September 16, 2026, starting in South Korea, with more countries due in the coming days.
