TradeTek 4.0 targets estimating bottlenecks with AI scaling and earthwork tools

TradeTek Software has launched version 4.0 of its estimating platform with AI-assisted page scaling, shared job caching, automated takeoff functions and a new Dirt Work Bundle for grading projects.

TradeTek Software has released TradeTek 4.0, adding a wider set of automation tools aimed at speeding up estimating work in construction. According to the company, the update is built around reducing repetitive manual steps in digital takeoff, with features that can push a single job property change across multiple assemblies, carry subtotal information between reports through global properties, and use AI to auto-scale pages before takeoff begins. TradeTek also says the new release can automatically count selected reference symbols and create links between pages, assemblies and external files or web addresses.

The cloud-connected edition adds a shared job cache designed to cut navigation delays when projects are stored on a NAS drive or in cloud storage. TradeTek says the cache is updated automatically as jobs are added, changed or deleted, and can store fields such as customer, estimator, salesperson, location and quote number so teams can search and filter work more easily. The company also describes a local cache for individual users, intended to improve performance and help bring external USB drives into the same working environment.

For site grading work, TradeTek 4.0 now includes a Dirt Work Bundle that expands the software with assemblies, reports and takeoff tools for existing and proposed contour maps. According to TradeTek, the package calculates cut, fill, balance and related earthwork quantities, and can split large projects into multiple existing and proposed page pairs before stitching the finished maps and reports back into one consolidated job.

TradeTek positions the software as a standalone desktop application for modern Mac and Windows systems, while also promoting cloud sharing for teams that need to use the same preferences, price lists, jobs and reports across locations. The company says the product is available by subscription from $99 a month, with annual discounts and trade-specific bundles. It also points users to user and developer guides, training videos, searchable help and AI-assisted learning, alongside live Zoom demonstrations with an estimator.
