Amaran launches the $99 Mic, a wireless desktop microphone featuring AI noise reduction and hardware-level controls, targeting streamers, podcasters, and creators seeking premium audio in a crowded market.
amaran is moving further beyond lighting with the launch of the amaran Mic, a $99 wireless desktop microphone aimed at streamers, podcasters and other desk-based creators. The new model broadens the brand’s creator hardware line-up, which already includes the portable amaran Tag for mobile recording, according to the company’s product pages.
The microphone uses a 30 mm dynamic capsule with a supercardioid pattern, which is designed to focus on sound from directly in front while rejecting more of what arrives from the sides. amaran says it delivers an 86 dB signal-to-noise ratio, can handle sound pressure levels up to 130 dB and includes an automatic limiter to help prevent distortion on sudden peaks. Unlike many software-based tools, its AI noise reduction runs inside the microphone itself rather than being processed by a computer or cloud service.
Three capture modes are available: Original Sound for unprocessed audio, Standard Noise Reduction for constant background noise such as fans or air conditioning and AI Noise Reduction for more irregular sounds such as typing or traffic. The mic can be used either by USB-C cable or through a pre-paired 2.4 GHz receiver, with amaran claiming up to 50 m of wireless range in open space and as much as 60 hours of battery life.
amaran has also put much of the day-to-day control on the microphone itself. Users can switch noise modes, adjust microphone and monitoring levels, mute the unit, check battery status and listen back in real time without opening software. For deeper tuning, the amaran Desktop App adds EQ presets, custom curves, vocal enhancement, a noise gate and limiting tools.
The company is also offering a Low-Profile Boom Arm for creators who want a less visible mount on camera, with that accessory due to begin shipping in Q4 2026. Both the desktop stand kit and the boom arm will be sold in Charcoal and White. In a crowded entry-level market that already includes products such as the Maono DM40 Pro and Shure’s hybrid MV7i, amaran is positioning the Mic as a simple, hardware-first alternative for users who want desk audio control without relying heavily on extra software.
