Anker’s new clip-on earbuds launch in the UAE on 29 October with two-way translation in more than 100 languages, AI-powered call processing and an open-ear design.
Anker has brought its Soundcore AeroClip 2 to the UAE, positioning the open-ear clip-on earbuds around communication rather than pure audio performance. The model goes on sale on 29 October at AED 599, placing it below many premium alternatives in a segment that has expanded quickly as more users look for earbuds that leave the ear canal open while still offering a secure fit.
The form factor follows the now familiar ear-cuff layout. A curved bridge grips the outer ear and holds the speaker just outside the ear canal, allowing the listener to remain aware of traffic, office conversation and public announcements. Anker says the bridge shape was developed using data from more than 2,000 ear scans, and each earbud weighs 6.2g, making the design one of the lighter options in its class. That matters more here than in conventional in-ear models, because comfort and stability are central to whether clip-on earbuds are usable over long periods.
Anker is placing particular emphasis on call quality. The company says the AeroClip 2 uses its THUS AI chip to process audio on the device and separate the wearer’s voice from surrounding noise. It also highlights Guinness World Records certification for speech quality in the open-ear clip-on category, although that benchmark is limited to a narrow and relatively new segment. Independent testing will still be needed to show how the earbuds cope with busy streets, transport hubs and other everyday noise.
The more unusual feature is live translation. Through the Soundcore app, the AeroClip 2 supports two-way translation in more than 100 languages, a function that could be especially relevant in the UAE’s multilingual environment. Because it depends on the app, the feature will also rely on a connected phone, and likely on data access, while its accuracy and latency in real-world use remain to be seen. Anker has also added 12mm dual-magnet drivers, LDAC support for compatible Android phones, HearID 5.0 sound personalisation and 3D spatial audio, while Apple users get MFi certification and dual-device connectivity.
Battery life is rated at up to eight hours on a single charge and 32 hours with the case, with a 10-minute top-up said to provide roughly four hours of listening time. The earbuds also carry an IP57 rating for dust and water resistance and use physical buttons rather than touch controls, a choice that may appeal to users who want fewer accidental inputs. The AeroClip 2 will be sold through Anker’s own store, Amazon, noon and other major retailers, with launch bundles said to be worth up to AED 517. At AED 599, the main question is whether translation will become a genuinely useful everyday tool, or remain a feature that sounds more impressive on paper than in daily use.
