Anker has introduced a new ultra-compact travel charging station in the US, offering six ports with powerful, adaptable charging capabilities and enhanced safety features for global travellers.
Anker has expanded its travel-focused charging line-up with a compact six-port station that is now listed in the United States for $79.99. According to the company’s product page, the unit is designed to replace a cluster of separate chargers when users are moving between hotels, offices and home workspaces.
The Travel Charging Station combines four USB-C ports with two USB-A ports, giving it enough capacity to power a mix of laptops, tablets, phones, headphones and handheld gaming devices from a single wall outlet. The first two USB-C ports can each supply up to 100W when used on their own, while the other two USB-C ports are rated at 45W. Each USB-A port provides 12W. Anker says its PowerIQ 4.0 system reallocates the station’s 150W total output according to what each connected device requires.
The company is also leaning heavily on safety features. Its ActiveShield 4.0 system monitors temperature continuously, and Anker says the charger includes seven layers of protection against issues such as overvoltage, overcurrent, overheating and short circuits. The enclosure uses fire-resistant materials, but there is no built-in display or smart screen, which keeps the design simple.
Size appears to be one of the main selling points. The unit measures 5.9 x 2.7 x 0.87 inches and weighs 0.64lb, making it notably compact for a six-device charger. It ships with a braided power cable and a foldable plug intended to make packing easier. Anker also says the charger supports 100-240V input, which should make it suitable for international travel.
