Anker's MagGo Power Bank 2 Pro elevates magnetic charging with speed and smart features

Anker’s latest MagGo Power Bank 2 Pro combines fast wireless charging, active cooling, and a smart display in a more feature-rich portable charger, redefining magnetic power banks for demanding users.

Anker’s MagGo Power Bank 2 Pro is a clear attempt to turn a magnetic battery pack into something more capable than a simple emergency charger. The device combines a 10,000mAh cell with Qi2.2 wireless charging at up to 25W, a 45W USB-C port, active cooling, a smart display and a fold-out stand. In practice, that makes it a more ambitious accessory than most magnetic packs, which often prioritise convenience over speed. According to Anker, the product is aimed at users who want a portable charger that can do more than merely cling to the back of a phone.

The hardware is relatively compact for what it includes, but it is not slim. The casing is thicker than many magnetic rivals because it houses the battery, charging circuitry, fan, airflow channels, display and stand. That added bulk is the trade-off for a more feature-rich design, and it is one that reviewers have generally accepted as the cost of getting faster charging and better thermal control in a magnetic format. Macworld said the unit is bulkier than some competitors, while still offering stronger performance and a broader feature set.

The main technical selling point is the jump to 25W wireless charging over Qi2. Earlier magnetic chargers commonly topped out at 15W, which made them convenient but comparatively slow. Anker says the MagGo Power Bank 2 Pro uses the newer Qi2.2 standard, while also supporting up to 45W in and out over USB-C. That gives it a dual identity: a cable-free charger for everyday use, and a higher-power wired battery when speed matters more than convenience.

Heat management is central to that pitch. Wireless charging naturally creates more heat than wired charging, and higher power makes the problem worse. Anker has therefore added a fan and dual air channels under its SnapCool system to limit thermal build-up and reduce throttling. Notebookcheck reported that the charger stayed at about 36 degrees Celsius during 25W wireless charging, while also noting that the fan helps the device reach 80 per cent charge in about 52 minutes when recharging itself over USB-C. Silent and cooling modes also let users decide whether they want maximum thermal control or a quieter experience.

The smart display is another useful addition. Rather than forcing users to rely on vague LED indicators, the screen can show battery percentage, temperature and battery-health information, along with charging status and device details. That makes the product easier to manage over time, particularly because power banks age like any other rechargeable battery. Anker’s own materials say the display is meant to give a clearer view of the charger’s state, while third-party reviews have highlighted the practical value of having more than a simple four-light gauge.

There are limits, however. The device does not deliver its full wired and wireless output at the same time, so it is better understood as a high-performance single-device charger with limited secondary output rather than a multi-device workhorse. It also requires a compatible magnetic phone or case, which means buyers with standard cases may not get the intended experience. Even so, the attached stand adds real utility, allowing the phone to sit upright during charging on a desk, tray table or bedside table.

At AED 399, the MagGo Power Bank 2 Pro sits above basic magnetic batteries, but its specification explains the premium more convincingly than many accessory launches do. The combination of 25W magnetic wireless charging, 45W USB-C power, active cooling, a proper display and a usable stand makes it one of the more complete portable charging products in its class. For users with a compatible phone who want speed as well as convenience, Anker has built a magnetic power bank that feels deliberately engineered rather than merely embellished.
