Apple has added 43 new hearing aid models to its Made for iPhone programme, enhancing support across its ecosystem and further integrating health and accessibility features into its devices.
Apple has expanded its list of Made for iPhone hearing aids, adding 43 new models from 22 brands and taking the total number of compatible products to more than 600, according to Macitynet. The update extends support across iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro, giving users more choice when pairing hearing devices with Apple hardware.
The Made for iPhone programme is designed to connect hearing aids directly to Apple devices without the need for separate accessories. Depending on the model, audio can be sent in one direction or both. Two-way support allows hands-free calling because the hearing aid can pick up the user’s voice. Macitynet said most of the newly added devices support this bidirectional connection.
Apple has also revised the system requirements for Mac users. The MacBook Neo is now listed as supported for both one-way and two-way audio streaming, provided the device is running macOS Tahoe 26. Once connected, users can adjust microphone volume, audio presets and other settings from their Apple device. On iPhone, iPad and Apple Vision Pro, the controls sit under Accessibility and Hearing Aids in Settings. On Mac, they are available in System Settings under Accessibility.
The hearing-aid push comes as Apple continues to broaden its hearing-focused health tools. In September 2024, the company introduced a Hearing Aid feature for AirPods Pro 2, aimed at people with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss, and in December 2024 it launched a Hearing Test feature in the UK. Together, the products show how Apple is combining consumer audio hardware with health-oriented functions, while its dedicated hearing-aid compatibility list continues to grow.
