ASUS turns the ROG Xbox Ally into a 4K gaming hub with its new $99.99 dock

The ROG Bulwark Dock DG310 adds HDMI 2.1, Gigabit Ethernet, USB ports and up to 80W charging to ASUS’s handheld gaming family.

ASUS has added a new docking station to its ROG accessory line-up, pitching the Bulwark Dock DG310 as a way to turn the ROG Xbox Ally handheld family into a larger-screen gaming set-up. According to ASUS, the device is aimed at users who want to move from portable play to a desk or television without switching hardware.

The dock connects through a single USB-C cable and uses an angled stand to keep the handheld elevated, which ASUS says helps airflow while it is in use. The company also says the cable is 60cm long and uses a 90-degree connector, a detail that should make cable routing tidier on a desk or beside a television. The accessory is finished in ASUS’s ROG styling and is sold in black.

In practical terms, the DG310 is a 6-in-1 hub. ASUS lists HDMI 2.1, Gigabit Ethernet, three USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports and USB-C power input rated for up to 100W. The company says the dock can pass through up to 80W of power delivery when used with a 100W charger, while its video output supports up to 4K at 144Hz or 8K at 30Hz. ASUS also says the dock is designed to work with Windows 11, macOS 12.3 or later and Android 14 or later, provided the connected device supports USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery.

ASUS is also leaning on convenience features that are more relevant to living-room use. The company says supported smart TVs can recognise a connected Ally device as an Xbox and switch into a low-latency game mode automatically, while a Bluetooth button on the dock enables quick pairing for headsets, controllers and other wireless accessories. Four RGB lighting modes are included, although the feature set is otherwise deliberately straightforward: the DG310 is intended to be a compact bridge between a handheld and a more permanent gaming set-up. ASUS has set the price at $99.99.
