CMF by Nothing has launched two sharply different earbuds in Malaysia, pairing the RM129 Buds Neo with the RM359 Clip Pro, its first open-ear model.
CMF by Nothing has widened its Malaysian audio line-up with two earbuds that target very different buyers. The Buds Neo, priced at RM129, is a conventional in-ear model with active noise cancellation, while the RM359 Clip Pro adopts an open-ear design aimed at users who want more awareness of traffic, colleagues or public announcements.
According to reports from local tech publications, both models are already on sale in Malaysia through Nothing’s local website, official online stores, the Nothing Image Store and authorised retailers including TMT and Urban Republic. Other listings also point to wider online availability through Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop, with Clip Pro additionally offered via nothing.tech. The launch colours are split by model: Buds Neo comes in Black, White and Dark Blue, while Clip Pro is sold in Dark Grey, Light Grey and Coral.
On paper, Buds Neo is the more familiar proposition. CMF says it uses a 12.4mm dynamic driver with a titanium-coated PET dome and supports static spatial audio. Its hybrid ANC is rated at up to 35dB, with three manual settings and an adaptive mode. The company claims up to 11 hours of listening from the earbuds alone, or 52 hours with the case when noise cancellation is off. With ANC enabled, those figures are said to fall to eight hours and 30 hours respectively, while a 10-minute USB-C charge is rated for up to 5.5 hours of use.
Clip Pro is positioned as CMF’s first open-ear earbuds, and its design reflects that brief. The earbuds use a three-point clip structure with an elastic titanium wire core, and each unit weighs 5.92g. CMF also gives the model an IP54 rating, making it more suitable for exercise and commuting than for maximum sound isolation. Its 10.8mm dual-magnet driver is paired with the company’s Ultra Bass processing, while support for LDAC, AAC and SBC, Bluetooth 5.4, dual-device pairing and a low-latency mode adds to its feature list. The case includes a functional Smart Dial for volume, playback, calls and pairing, and battery life is quoted at up to 10 hours per charge or 32.5 hours in total, with four hours promised from a 10-minute top-up.
The two products are clearly aimed at different use cases. Buds Neo is the value option for buyers who want noise reduction and a more sealed fit at the lowest possible price. Clip Pro costs considerably more, but its open design is better suited to runners, cyclists and commuters who need to stay alert. As with any launch based on manufacturer figures, the battery, ANC and call-quality claims should be treated as provisional until independent testing is available.
