Corsair has launched the Nightsword v2 Wireless SD, the first gaming mouse to incorporate a dedicated Stream Deck launch button, signalling a shift towards an all-in-one workflow device tailored for both gaming and productivity.
Corsair has taken an unusual route in the gaming mouse market with the NIGHTSWORD v2 Wireless SD, a large right-handed model built around a dedicated Stream Deck Launch Button rather than around extreme weight reduction. PCWorld reported that the mouse is priced at $129.99 and is the first gaming mouse to integrate a Stream Deck trigger, while Corsair says the design is intended to give users direct access to Elgato’s Virtual Stream Deck from the mouse itself.
The hardware is pitched as a premium all-purpose peripheral rather than a stripped-back esports tool. Corsair describes the NIGHTSWORD v2 Wireless SD as an ergonomic mouse with a sculpted thumb rest, 11 buttons and tri-mode connectivity through 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth and USB. The company says eight buttons can be programmed inside the Stream Deck app, while the main left and right buttons remain fixed. It also uses Corsair’s MARKSMAN S sensor, rated at up to 33,000 DPI, and optical switches rated for 100 million clicks. Corsair adds that the mouse supports 8,000Hz polling and can reach up to 170 hours of battery life in 2.4GHz mode with RGB lighting off.
The main selling point is the Stream Deck integration. Tom’s Hardware reported that the dedicated button opens a Virtual Stream Deck overlay on screen, allowing users to trigger actions and multi-step commands from the mouse. Corsair says the feature is meant to work with the broader Stream Deck ecosystem, including app plugins and custom action sets, so it can serve both games and productivity tasks. The company also positions the mouse as part of a wider workflow strategy, rather than as a conventional gaming accessory with a few extra macros.
Corsair’s own comparison with the older NIGHTSWORD RGB underlines how sharply the v2 model is aimed at a different audience. The new version adds the Stream Deck button, increases the top DPI rating and upgrades to tri-mode wireless, while moving to optical main switches. That makes the NIGHTSWORD v2 Wireless SD less about chasing the lightest possible shell and more about combining a full-sized ergonomic shape with shortcut-heavy control. For users who will actually build routines around the Stream Deck software, it is a distinctive proposition. For everyone else, it remains an expensive mouse with a feature set that depends heavily on how much use the owner makes of Elgato’s software.
