Creative has launched the XF1, a compact 2.0 desktop speaker system designed for creators and professionals seeking high-quality sound and versatile connectivity in a small form factor, with support for Bluetooth 6.0 and future bass extension.
Creative has positioned the XF1 as a compact desktop speaker system for people who need more capable sound than a laptop or basic PC speaker can provide without moving up to bulky studio monitors. The company says the 2.0 setup is fully active, uses DSP control and is aimed at creators, videomakers, podcasters and musicians who spend long hours at a workstation. Its launch also fits a wider push in the desktop-audio market towards smaller, higher-quality systems with Bluetooth 6.0 and high-resolution playback support.
Each cabinet measures 99.7 x 191 x 155 mm, making the XF1 easier to fit beside a monitor than conventional near-field monitors. Creative also includes cork stands, which help tilt the speakers towards the listener and reduce vibration transfer to the desk. The right speaker carries the controls, including a front-mounted knob for volume and source switching, according to Gizmochina.
At the core of the system is a bi-amplified two-way design with a 3/4-inch tweeter and a 3-inch woofer in each speaker. Creative rates the pair at 72W RMS in total, split between 10W for each tweeter and 26W for each woofer. The company says the system delivers a frequency range of 55Hz to 40kHz and uses finite element analysis in the woofer design to keep distortion down. That specification places the XF1 above ordinary desktop speakers, though it remains distinct from monitors built for critical mix decisions.
Connectivity is broad for a desktop product. The XF1 supports USB-C audio, a 3.5mm analogue input and Bluetooth 6.0 with SBC, AAC and LDAC. Creative says the wireless range is up to 10 metres and that LDAC requires a compatible Android device running Android 8.0 or later. The system also includes a subwoofer output, allowing users to extend bass later rather than replacing the main speakers.
Creative’s Nexus software adds a 10-band parametric equaliser and preset modes for music, films and games, along with product updates. However, Creative lists support for Windows 10 or later, iOS 17 or later and Android 10 or later, which means macOS is not included among the supported platforms. For Mac users, that leaves the speakers fully usable as audio devices, but the software controls appear to depend on another supported device.
Pricing and availability vary by region. Creative’s Singapore press material says the XF1 has been launched, while European coverage from Xataka and Basic Tutorials places the price at €159.99 with availability from August 6. Gizmochina and TweakTown reported an earlier international launch window of July 16 and cited a Singapore price of SGD 249, underscoring that release timing and pricing depend on market. The package includes the speakers, power adapter, USB-A to USB-C cable, a 2-metre interconnect cable, the cork stands and quick-start documentation.
