Elecom is launching a 2,479-yen smartphone charging set with a 20W USB-C charger, 1.2m cable and reusable pouch, available in six colours.
Elecom will begin selling a new bundled smartphone charging kit in late October, pairing an AC charger with a USB Type-C cable for 2,479 yen. According to the company’s announcement carried by ASCII.jp, the set is aimed at users who want a compact charging option they can carry easily, while also offering six colour choices: Powder Blue, Mint Green, Sherbet Pink, Lilac Purple, White and Honey Yellow.
The charger itself is a cube-shaped unit weighing about 39.1g, with a swivelling plug that folds through 90 degrees to reduce bulk in a bag or pouch. It has a single USB Type-C port and supports USB Power Delivery at up to 20W, which is enough for many smartphones and other compatible portable devices. The included cable is a USB Type-C to USB Type-C lead measuring about 1.2m, a length Elecom says is practical for using a phone while charging.
Elecom has also added a reusable pouch-style package that can hold both the charger and cable together, reinforcing the product’s travel-friendly positioning. The charger is compliant with Japan’s Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law, better known as PSE, and the company says it has carried out its own safety testing. Key specifications include an input range of AC100V to 240V, output settings of 5V, 9V and 12V, and a square footprint of roughly 33.7mm on each side.
The launch fits into a wider pattern in Elecom’s charging line-up. The company introduced integrated USB Type-C charging models in 2022, including versions rated at up to 45W and 20W, and has since expanded into USB chargers and power taps for different use cases. By contrast, this new set is pitched less as a high-output accessory and more as a simple, portable everyday charger, with colour options and packaging designed to appeal to users who want their charging gear to be as individual as their phone case or bag.
