The compact, single-port charger supports USB Power Delivery and PPS and is advertised at ¥300 off until 12 November 2026. A suitable cable is sold separately.
AppBank reports that Amazon is listing ELECOM’s EC-AC8870MN, a 70-watt USB-C charger in midnight, for ¥2,690 in a promotion advertised to run until 23:59 on 12 November 2026. That is ¥300 below the stated previous price of ¥2,990. The listing price, availability and terms may change, so buyers should check Amazon before ordering. The article also discloses that it may earn commission from purchases made through affiliate links.
The charger has one USB-C port and supports USB Power Delivery and PPS, which adjust power delivery to suit a connected device. ELECOM says it can fast-charge a MacBook Air and charge a 14-inch MacBook Pro at the same speed as the adapter supplied with that laptop. The manufacturer also lists smartphones, tablets and compatible Windows laptops among the devices it can charge.
GaN II components allow the unit to deliver up to 70 watts in a compact format, according to ELECOM. It measures about 45.2 by 38.1 by 43.8 millimetres, weighs roughly 98 grams and has a foldable plug. The company says it is more than 38 per cent smaller and lighter than the adapter supplied with a 14-inch MacBook Pro. Its single port means it cannot charge multiple devices at once.
Apple’s guidance says Mac laptops charge through USB-C or MagSafe, depending on the model, and advises using a suitable adapter and cable for the computer’s recommended wattage. The 14-inch MacBook Pro can use a 70-watt USB-C adapter; Apple identifies a 96-watt adapter as an option for fast charging that model. A Mac’s charging performance therefore depends on its model and the equipment used.
No cable is included with the ELECOM charger. For output between 60 and 70 watts, the product information specifies a cable rated for charging at up to 100 watts. Owners of a compatible MacBook USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable can use it with the adapter, while Apple also supports charging compatible Mac models directly over USB-C. ELECOM lists a one-year warranty and says the charger meets Japanese PSE safety requirements.
