Epomaker launches the RT75, a feature-packed mechanical keyboard blending retro aesthetics with a removable TFT screen and versatile connectivity, all priced below $100.
Epomaker has added another sub-$100 board to its line-up with the RT75, a retro-styled mechanical keyboard built around a 75% layout and a removable 1.54-inch TFT screen. According to XiaomiToday, the screen can show GIFs, clocks or system details, while Epomaker says the board can also be reconfigured by replacing the display with four extra keys, nudging the layout closer to an 82-key design.
The RT75 is aimed at the enthusiast market without pushing into premium pricing. Epomaker lists it at $91.79 with Creamy Jade linear switches and $93.49 with Crystal Tactile Silent switches. The company is currently showing the board in Retro White, although Matte Grey and Fern Green versions appear in its product materials, suggesting more finishes may follow.
Beyond the novelty screen, the keyboard adopts a fairly conventional custom-board formula. It uses MX-style hot-swap sockets, Cherry-profile PBT keycaps with dye-sublimated legends, a polycarbonate plate and an ABS case. Epomaker also says the board uses a Poron gasket mount and multiple layers of sound-dampening material, while the product page describes a five-layer system. In practice, the aim is the same: to soften the typing feel and reduce case noise.
Connectivity is broad for the money. Epomaker supports Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless and USB-C, with wired and 2.4GHz operation rated at up to 1,000Hz polling. The keyboard carries a 5,000mAh battery, south-facing per-key RGB lighting and storage for the 2.4GHz receiver. Epomaker also says Driver 3.0 can be used on Windows and macOS, while the product page adds Linux, Android and iOS compatibility.
The result is a feature-heavy board in a crowded segment. XiaomiToday notes that the RT75 tries to stand out not only through its retro look, but also through the unusual screen-and-key swap concept and the amount of hardware packed in for roughly $92. For buyers comparing compact mechanical keyboards, that combination may be the main attraction.
