EPOS has added native Bluetooth certification for Microsoft Teams to its IMPACT 1000 and IMPACT 500 headsets, giving users a direct connection to a computer or laptop without relying on a USB dongle. The company said the update is designed to reduce desk clutter, free up USB ports and make it easier for professionals to move between office, home and shared workspaces.
To use the feature, owners must install the latest firmware through the EPOS Connect app. EPOS said the change preserves the headset’s full functionality while making day-to-day use simpler, particularly for employees who switch frequently between devices or work in hot-desking environments.
The update also adds a security element through Resolvable Private Addresses, or RPA, which helps prevent device tracking and limits reconnection to previously paired devices. EPOS said that brings the Bluetooth experience closer to the security expectations of enterprise users. The move builds on the company’s broader positioning around workplace audio, with the IMPACT 500 already pitched as a Microsoft Teams-certified headset with flexible connectivity, while other models in the wider IMPACT range combine voice pickup, noise reduction and all-day wear comfort for open office use.
