EPOS has introduced native Bluetooth support in its IMPACT 1000 and IMPACT 500 headsets, eliminating the need for a USB dongle and simplifying wireless connectivity for hybrid workers and office staff, with enhanced security features and flexible device management.
EPOS has added native Bluetooth support for Microsoft Teams to its IMPACT 1000 and IMPACT 500 headsets, a move that removes the need for a USB dongle and gives users a direct wireless link to a laptop or desktop with built-in Bluetooth. The company said the update is available now through the latest firmware in the EPOS Connect app and is intended to make day-to-day use simpler for office staff and hybrid workers.
According to EPOS, the change preserves the full feature set while reducing cable clutter, freeing up USB ports and lowering the chance of a missing adapter disrupting a meeting. The company also says the switch should make it easier for IT teams to manage equipment across hot-desking environments and users who move between devices during the day. EPOS has been positioning the IMPACT 500 as an on-ear headset for dynamic work patterns, while the IMPACT 1000 line has been presented as a higher-end series built around call quality and reduced listening fatigue.
The company has also strengthened the Bluetooth connection by using Resolvable Private Addresses, a security measure designed to make device tracking more difficult and limit reconnection to trusted, previously paired hardware. In practical terms, that brings the wireless experience closer to what enterprise buyers typically expect from managed workplace devices, particularly where privacy and repeat connectivity matter.
Microsoft’s own device listings still show the EPOS IMPACT 500 among certified Teams hardware, underlining the headset’s place in the ecosystem as EPOS extends support beyond the traditional dongle model. EPOS says the broader aim is to support hybrid work with a more flexible setup that keeps voice quality, active noise cancellation and device switching at the centre of the user experience.
