Epos unveils the Impact 100, a lightweight, wired headset designed for dependable voice capture and comfort for hybrid and office professionals, highlighting simplicity and durability in a competitive market.
The EPOS IMPACT 100 is positioned as a basic wired headset for hybrid workers who need dependable voice capture and comfort rather than consumer audio extras. In practice, that is also how the product is framed by EPOS itself, which says the headset is built for professionals who spend long hours on calls and need straightforward compatibility across devices. The appeal lies in restraint: it is meant to do one job well, and to do it without the battery management, pairing friction or bulk that often come with wireless alternatives. EPOS says the stereo model weighs 76 grams, placing it among the lightest options in its category.
That lightweight design is central to the headset’s case. EPOS describes a slim silicone headband and leatherette ear pads, while third-party reviews have highlighted the same emphasis on long-wear comfort and a secure but not aggressive fit. The headset also uses an aramid fibre-reinforced cable, a material choice that matters more in office equipment than it may first appear, because it is designed to improve durability in daily use. For workers who spend most of the day on voice calls, the practical benefit is reduced fatigue and fewer worries about wear and tear.
The microphone is the most important part of the IMPACT 100, and this is where the headset appears to justify its professional positioning. EPOS says the unit uses a uni-directional microphone with noise-cancelling algorithms intended to isolate speech in busy environments. Reviewers have broadly echoed that view, saying the headset performs well for call clarity even when background noise is present. The boom arm can be worn on either side, and the in-line controller adds backlit buttons and LED indicators for call handling. Dual USB-C and USB-A connectors also make it easier to switch between newer laptops and older office hardware without adapters.
What the IMPACT 100 does not try to be is equally important. It is not built for music-first listening, and it does not pretend to offer the richer sound profile of a more general-purpose headset or headphone. Instead, it focuses on voice work, team calls and predictable operation, which is why it fits office professionals, remote staff and contact-centre users more than casual listeners. According to Simply Headsets, the model was launched in June 2025, and that timing places it in a market where wired headsets are regaining attention because they are simple, dependable and do not need charging. At Rs 5,499, the EPOS model looks pitched as a value-driven work tool rather than a status product, and that narrow ambition is also its strength.
