Gizmodo Japan’s GIZMART project witnesses unprecedented success with the Keychron Orca Echo, surpassing ¥570 million and hosting exclusive hands-on events as demand accelerates.
Gizmodo Japan’s GIZMART project is taking its next step with a hands-on event for the Keychron Orca Echo, a split keyboard that has become one of its strongest crowdfunding successes. According to Mediagene, the campaign launched on June 19 and quickly set a new record for GIZMART, drawing broad attention from keyboard users and enthusiasts.
The latest company update says funding has now passed ¥570 million, with more than 21,000 backers supporting the project. Mediagene had previously reported that the campaign crossed ¥300 million in June and then became the first GIZMART project to top ¥500 million in July, underlining how rapidly demand has grown.
To let buyers test the hardware before the campaign closes, GIZMART is staging a two-city “touch and try” event in Kyoto and Tokyo. The Kyoto session is set for August 28 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., while the Tokyo session will take place on August 30 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Both events are fully reserved. Visitors will be able to try the keyboard’s split layout, key feel and pointing controls, including the trackball, scroll wheel and vertical scroll pad.
The company also plans to display Keychron’s G6 HE UltraLight gaming mouse, which it says uses a magnetic switch design that still delivers a tactile click. GIZMART has extended the crowdfunding period from August 31 to September 14, giving attendees additional time to decide after trying the product in person.
