Google has slashed the price of its Pixel Buds 2a to $99, positioning the mid-range wireless earbuds as a budget-friendly option that retains key features like active noise cancellation and water resistance, amid positive reviews highlighting their size, fit, and sound quality.

Amazon has cut the Google Pixel Buds 2a to $99, a sharp drop from the £129 launch price reported by Google and review outlets. That puts Google’s mid-range wireless earbuds into budget territory while keeping active noise cancellation, Transparency mode and the Tensor A1 chip in play. Google says the case and buds together deliver up to 20 hours of listening time, and the earbuds are built to handle sweat and water exposure.

The timing matters because the Pixel Buds 2a arrived as a cheaper successor to Google’s A-series earbuds, adding noise cancellation and a more refined design. Android Central said they borrow heavily from the higher-end Pixel Buds Pro 2 in their shape and comfort, while keeping the price far lower than premium rivals.

Reviews have been broadly positive, though not without caveats. Mashable’s Adam Doud rated them 3.9 out of 5, praising their compact size and saying the ANC was stronger than expected at this price. SoundGuys said that combination makes them a strong option for Pixel phone owners, while other reviewers noted that the lack of wireless charging and some advanced sensors keeps the Pro model ahead on value for buyers willing to spend more.
