Huawei has launched the SuperCharge Power Bank 12000 with a groundbreaking offline find feature, transforming a regular portable charger into a secure, connected device tailored for frequent travellers and gadget enthusiasts.
Huawei has added a tracking function to a familiar accessory, turning a portable charger into something closer to a smart device. The company has introduced the SuperCharge Power Bank 12000, a 12,000mAh battery pack that supports offline finding, allowing users to locate it even when it is not connected to the internet, according to the company’s announcement carried by Media Indonesia.
The key feature is its link to Huawei’s Find Network. In practice, the power bank can report its last known location through nearby Huawei devices, with the process described as anonymous and encrypted. That means a user who misplaces the charger in a café, office or airport may still be able to trace it through Huawei’s app ecosystem without fitting the accessory with its own data connection.
Charging performance remains central to the product. Huawei says the device supports 66W SuperCharge, both when powering other devices and when recharging itself. The company claims that some compatible Huawei phones can reach about 50% battery in roughly 15 minutes, depending on the model. That places the new unit above earlier Huawei 12,000mAh power banks, which were marketed around 40W fast charging and two-way charging, with independent reviews noting its ability to top up phones and even some laptops.
Huawei has also kept the design practical. The charger includes a built-in USB-C cable attached to the body, which reduces the chance of leaving the lead behind. The company says it has also built in multiple layers of protection against overcurrent, overvoltage, overheating and short circuits, alongside automatic power adjustment for connected devices.
The offline tracking function is likely to matter most to users already inside Huawei’s ecosystem. According to the company, the charger can be marked as lost in the Huawei AI Life or Find Device app, after which nearby Huawei products help update its last recorded location. That makes the SuperCharge Power Bank 12000 less of a simple backup battery and more of a connected accessory aimed at users who travel frequently or depend on portable power for work.
At the same time, the feature set shows how the power bank category is changing. Where older models were judged mainly on capacity, weight and charging speed, Huawei is now trying to add device security and recoverability into the same product. For users who often carry small accessories that are easy to misplace, that combination may prove as useful as the extra power itself.
