Lexar's 2TB CFexpress card drops nearly $450, making high-capacity professional media more affordable

Lexar reduces the price of its 2TB Professional Gold CFexpress 4.0 Type B card by $450, offering a more accessible option for high-resolution photography and 8K video recording amidst ongoing media equipment costs.

Lexar’s 2TB Professional Gold CFexpress 4.0 Type B memory card is being sold for $599.99, a reduction of $450 from its listed price. For buyers working with large-format stills or high-bitrate video, the discount brings a high-capacity card into a more reachable price band, especially at a time when professional media remains expensive.

According to B&H Photo’s product listing, the card uses a PCIe 4.0 interface and is rated for up to 3,600MB/s read speed, 3,300MB/s write speed and 3,000MB/s sustained writes. Lexar says those figures make it suitable for raw 8K recording, while the card also carries protection against dust, shock, vibration, temperature changes, compression, bends and drops, plus a limited lifetime warranty and data recovery software.

Review coverage from Digital Camera World suggests the Gold series has built a reputation for consistent in-camera performance and competitive pricing across capacities from 128GB to 2TB. The publication notes that it is not the fastest CFexpress Type B option on the market, but says the line remains attractive for professional photography and videography because it balances speed, reliability and cost.

The SSD Review’s examination of the 2TB model placed it at $729 and described it as well suited to high-resolution photography and 8K-plus video capture. Lexar’s own CFexpress guide also positions the card as a PCIe 4.0 product intended for newer Sony cameras, while claiming IP68 dust and water resistance on the broader Gold 4.0 Type B line. For camera users who need both large capacity and fast sustained writes, the current sale may make the card one of the more practical premium options available.
