Linkind’s Smart Light Stick introduces dynamic flame effects with full smart home compatibility

Linkind launches the Smart Light Stick, a versatile bulb combining animated flame effects, practical illumination, and Matter support, disrupting traditional decorative smart lighting.

Linkind has added a new option to the crowded smart-lighting market with the Smart Light Stick, a bulb that is designed to do more than simply change colour. The product fits a standard E26 socket and is aimed at users who want one fixture to cover several jobs at once: decorative flame-like ambience, everyday room lighting and app-controlled colour scenes. According to Linkind, it is priced at $32.99 and is sold through the company and Amazon.

The main selling point is its animated flame effect, which is built from 160 LEDs divided across 50 independently controlled zones. That arrangement allows the light to simulate movement rather than merely pulsing between colours, with users able to adjust flame size, brightness, flicker speed and motion. Linkind says the bulb also supports more than 120 preset scenes, including sunset-style glows and seasonal effects, while offering 16 million colours and tunable white light from 1,800K to 6,500K.

The bulb is also intended to be practical rather than purely atmospheric. Linkind says it delivers up to 850 lumens, which should make it bright enough for regular domestic use as well as decorative lighting. Reviews of the product have noted that its diffuser hides the individual LEDs, giving the output a cleaner and more even look than many flame-effect bulbs. A wide 310-degree beam angle further suggests the light is meant to spread across a room or porch rather than act like a narrow accent lamp.

Control options are broad. The Smart Light Stick works through the AiDot app and includes Dotis AI, which can generate lighting scenes from prompts instead of requiring users to tune each setting manually. It also supports music synchronisation, scheduling and a low-intensity night-light mode. Linkind says the bulb connects by Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and supports Matter, giving it compatibility with Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Samsung SmartThings.

Build quality and installation appear to have been given similar attention. Linkind says the housing uses polycarbonate and aluminium with UV resistance, making the bulb suitable for indoor and outdoor fixtures. An automatic upright sensor is meant to orient the flame effect correctly whether the bulb points upwards or downwards. That matters because the visual effect depends on the direction of the simulated flame, and a poorly oriented bulb would undermine the illusion.

The result is a product that sits somewhere between novelty lighting and mainstream smart home hardware. It is unusual in combining an animated decorative effect with enough output to function as a normal lamp, and its Matter support reduces the risk of platform lock-in. The trade-off is that many of its more interesting features still depend on app control, so it will appeal most to users who want a high level of customisation rather than a simple plug-and-play bulb.
