Logitech has launched the Blue Yeti 2, a major update to its iconic USB microphone, featuring a new LED display, AI noise reduction, and automated sound adjustments for streamers and podcasters.
Logitech has unveiled the Blue Yeti 2, a long-awaited successor to one of the best-known USB microphones in streaming and podcasting. The original Blue Yeti arrived in 2009 under Blue Microphones, the company Logitech acquired in 2018, and the new model is being positioned as the first major update to the line in 17 years. According to Logitech and reporting from Tom’s Hardware, the microphone is meant to keep the Yeti’s familiar plug-and-play approach while adding automation and a more visible on-device interface.
The most obvious change is a 1.3-inch LED display on the front of the microphone. Logitech says the screen uses a Yeti mascot interface to show gain and pickup-pattern information, which should make the device easier to configure without relying on software. The company is also using the display to surface controls and presets, reflecting a broader effort to make the microphone more self-contained for creators who want quick adjustments during recording or live streams.
Under the hood, the Blue Yeti 2 adds a 3D proximity sensor that tracks the speaker’s position and automatically adjusts gain, equalisation and polar pattern in real time. Logitech says this is designed to preserve audio quality when a user moves closer to or farther from the mic. The company has also added AI-based noise reduction to reduce unwanted background sound, while retaining the three condenser capsules, a capacitive mute button, a physical rotary control and a headphone output for live monitoring.
Logitech G presented the Yeti 2 at its G PLAY 2026 event alongside a wider product refresh, and the company says the microphone integrates with G Hub and Streamlabs for deeper customisation. Logitech’s product page also points to avatar uploads and software-driven settings management, suggesting the new model is intended to sit more firmly inside the company’s gaming and streaming ecosystem. The microphone is available in black and white, with Logitech pricing it at $159.99 in some markets. MacMagazine reported that the product will arrive in Brazil in October for R$1,000, with local buyers able to request an email alert through Logitech’s Brazilian store.
