Neewer unveils compact V-mount battery with travel-friendly features and versatile output options

Neewer has introduced the PS099U, a lightweight, travel-ready V-mount battery offering multiple power outputs, fast charging, and safety features, aiming to simplify mobile filmmaking setups while staying within airline restrictions.

NEEWER has added a travel-friendly V-mount battery aimed at crews that need to power several devices from a single compact source. The PS099U carries a 99Wh rating, which keeps it under the common 100Wh airline limit for carry-on batteries, and weighs 1.45lb, making it easier to pack for location work than larger studio units. NEEWER says the unit is designed for cameras, monitors, lights, laptops, tablets and phones, with a form factor that suits run-and-gun shooting, documentary work and mobile production kits.

A key feature is its charging flexibility. The battery uses dual USB-C ports with bidirectional 100W PD 3.1 support, and NEEWER says a compatible 100W charger can refill it in about two hours. That places it in the same class as other compact V-mount options marketed by retailers such as Best Buy, which also list 100W USB-C charging and wireless output for the model. For filmmakers, the appeal is less about raw capacity than about reducing the number of separate chargers and power bricks in a kit.

The PS099U also broadens its usefulness through its output options. NEEWER lists DC12V, DC8V, USB-A, dual USB-C, BP and D-Tap connections, plus wireless charging at up to 15W for MagSafe-compatible devices and 10W for Qi accessories. That makes it possible to run a camera rig, a monitor, a light and a phone from one battery, while limiting cable clutter on set. NEEWER also includes app-based and OLED-screen monitoring, which shows input, output, remaining charge and port status in real time.

Safety and convenience have been built into the design as well. According to NEEWER, the battery includes protection against short circuit, overheating, overcurrent, overvoltage, overcharge and overdischarge. It also has an integrated LED light with high, low and SOS modes, which may be useful in low-light pack-downs or emergencies. NEEWER’s positioning is clear: this is meant to be an all-in-one power block for creators who want V-mount convenience without the bulk that usually comes with it.
