Nothing CMF introduces lightweight open-ear earbuds with innovative controls and extended battery life

The CMF Clip Pro offers a natural listening experience with open-ear design, advanced controls, and long-lasting battery, targeting active users seeking awareness and convenience.

Nothing has added a new pair of open-ear earbuds to its CMF line, pitching the Clip Pro as a lightweight option for people who want music and calls without sealing off the ear canal. The design leaves the ear open to outside sound, making the product more suited to commuting, walking and other situations where awareness of the surroundings still matters.

The hardware centres on a three-point clip system with an elastic titanium wire, which CMF says is meant to distribute pressure more evenly across the ear. Each bud weighs 5.9g. What matters most for an open-ear model is sound delivery, and CMF has fitted the Clip Pro with a 10.8mm dual-magnet dynamic driver and its Ultra Bass Technology, aimed at improving low-end response without adding harshness to the treble. Hi-Res Audio certification and support for LDAC, AAC and SBC round out the audio specification.

Controls are a key part of the appeal. The charging case includes CMF’s Smart Dial, a rotating control that can handle volume, playback, call answering and pairing. The earbuds also support physical on-ear controls, while the Nothing X app lets users adjust settings such as sound leakage reduction. For calls, CMF combines four microphones with VPU-powered Clear Voice Technology, which is intended to separate speech from background noise in busy places.

Battery life is competitive for the category. CMF says the Clip Pro will run for up to 10 hours on the buds alone and up to 32.5 hours with the case, with a 10-minute charge adding up to four hours of listening. The earbuds also carry an IP54 rating, Bluetooth 5.4, dual-device connectivity, Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair and a low-latency mode. The company has set UK and US pricing at £79 and $99, with Dark Grey, Light Grey and Coral versions due from August 15. Europe and other markets follow on September 15, though CMF says the product will not be sold in India.
