Nothing’s CMF Clip Pro disrupts open-ear earbud market with lightweight design and high-res support

Nothing’s CMF has launched the Clip Pro, a £79 open-ear earbud combining lightweight comfort, high-resolution audio, and situational awareness features, challenging traditional in-ear models for active users.

Nothing’s CMF has entered the open-ear earbud market with the Clip Pro, a £79 model aimed at people who want music and calls without shutting out the world around them. The launch puts the budget sub-brand into a category that has grown quickly among runners, commuters and other users who value situational awareness as much as sound quality.

The design centres on a three-point clip system that spreads weight across the ear rather than loading one point, with CMF saying each bud weighs 5.9 grams. A titanium wire core forms the C-bridge, while the company also points to skin-friendly materials intended to make the fit more comfortable over long listening sessions. Reviewers have described the result as light, practical and better suited to warm-weather use than bulkier headphones.

Sound is built around a 10.8mm dual-magnet dynamic driver, with CMF claiming support from its Ultra Bass Technology and a Sound Seal system that is meant to reduce leakage. The earbuds are certified for Hi-Res Audio and support LDAC, AAC and SBC, while settings can be adjusted through the Nothing X app on iPhone and Android. Battery life is listed at up to 10 hours on the earbuds alone, or 32.5 hours with the charging case, with a 10-minute charge said to deliver up to four hours of playback.

CMF has also kept its Smart Dial, built into the case for volume, playback, call handling and pairing. Each earbud includes physical controls, and the model is rated IP54 for resistance to sweat and light rain. It ships in Dark Grey, Light Grey and Coral, and supports Bluetooth 5.4, multipoint pairing and a low-latency mode for gaming. According to reports from several tech publications, the Clip Pro is now on sale in the UK, with wider international availability following later.
