ORICO introduces a clamp-mounted USB-C hub designed to maximise desk space and simplify cable management, with support across multiple operating systems and optional power input.
ORICO has unveiled a clamp-mounted USB-C hub aimed at users who want extra ports without adding clutter to a desk or monitor arm. The device attaches directly to an edge rather than sitting flat on the work surface, a design the company says is intended to free space and keep cables better organised.
The hub provides one USB-C input and expands it into three USB-A ports plus one USB-C port, all rated for USB 3.2 Gen 1 transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps. ORICO says the clamp mechanism is tool-free and adjustable, with support for surfaces and monitor edges between roughly 5mm and 28mm thick in the Japanese launch material, while its wider product listing gives a 10mm to 32mm range. Either way, the aim is the same: secure mounting on desks or displays without permanent installation.
Power handling is another part of the design. ORICO says the hub supports both bus-powered use and self-powered operation through a USB-C power input rated at up to 5V/3A, which should help when connecting accessories that draw more current, such as printers or external drives. The company also says the hub is built from aluminium alloy for heat dissipation and durability, and that it includes basic protection against overcurrent, overvoltage, leakage, short circuits and high temperature.
The unit is sold as plug-and-play and is positioned for Windows, macOS and Linux systems, as well as other USB-equipped devices. ORICO is also marketing the product with a limited-time discount in Japan, although the core appeal is straightforward: a compact hub that places ports closer to where they are needed, without adding another box to the desk.
