ORICO has introduced an 8-in-1 USB-C docking station built around dual HDMI outputs, aiming at users who need a single hub for external displays, storage, peripherals and charging. The company says the unit can drive two 4K screens at 60Hz while also supplying power to a connected laptop through USB-C Power Delivery. That combination places it in a busy category of compact docks that are increasingly used to replace multiple adapters on desks and in mobile work setups.
The dock’s main appeal is its port mix. ORICO says it includes two HDMI ports, two USB-A ports, one USB-C data port, SD and microSD card slots and a USB-C power input rated at 100W. The company’s own product page describes the model as a USB-C docking station designed for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS devices, with plug-and-play operation and no driver installation required. A separate ORICO listing for a closely related 8-in-1 dock shows the brand positioning the same class of product as an all-purpose connectivity hub for laptops, tablets and smartphones.
For users moving large files, the data ports are rated at 5Gbps, which ORICO says is enough for quick transfers between external drives and a host machine. The SD and TF card readers can be used at the same time, which is useful for photographers and video editors importing media. ORICO also says the dock supports simultaneous use of peripherals such as keyboards, mice, external SSDs and cameras, making it more practical for multi-device workflows than a simple USB splitter.
The dual-display feature is the headline specification, but there is one important caveat. ORICO says macOS does not support two separate extended displays in the same way as Windows in this setup, a limitation that will matter to Mac users who expect independent dual-screen output.
