ORICO launches a versatile 12-in-1 SSD enclosure docking station that integrates external connectivity, high-resolution video output, and internal SSD storage, catering to mobile workers and creators with a compact, all-in-one device.
ORICO has launched a new 12-in-1 SSD enclosure docking station that combines external connectivity and portable storage in one unit, according to ASCII. The device normally costs ¥15,980, but a promotional code, “R2QT69AE”, cuts the price to ¥9,588 until August 20 at 23:59. For users working between home, office and travel, the appeal is simple: one accessory can replace several, while also carrying data locally on an internal SSD.
The dock is built around a USB-C connection and adds video output, file transfer, card-reading, audio, networking and charging functions. ASCII reported that it supports M.2 SATA and NVMe SSDs of up to 8TB, letting users keep project files or video footage inside the dock itself. The company’s product information also describes a broader variant with dual M.2 slots, but the model now being sold in Japan is presented as a single-enclosure dock designed to keep the footprint compact while still expanding laptop connectivity.
On the display side, ORICO says the unit can output up to 8K at 30Hz through either DisplayPort or HDMI, and dual-screen use allows two 4K at 60Hz displays. It includes two USB-A 5Gbps ports, one USB-A 10Gbps port, one USB-C 10Gbps port, SD and TF card slots, Gigabit Ethernet, a combined 3.5mm audio and microphone jack, and a 100W USB Power Delivery port for charging a notebook or iPad at the same time. Cooling is handled with an internal fan and an M.2 heatsink, which should help limit thermal slowdowns when storage transfers and high-resolution video output are used together.
