PFU introduces the ‘HHKB Flexible Work Set’, a limited-time bundle designed to optimise desktop ergonomics with split palm support and flexible accessories, available until September 30, 2026.
PFU has begun a limited-time sale of an HHKB bundle that is clearly aimed at users who want a more adaptable desktop layout without buying each accessory separately. The “HHKB Flexible Work Set” combines an HHKB keyboard with a carrying case, Type Sticks and a split silicone typing pad, and the company says the offer runs until September 30, 2026. According to PFU, the package is available in two versions: the HHKB Professional HYBRID Type-S set and the HHKB Professional Classic Type-S set.
The timing suggests PFU is targeting people who already know the HHKB ecosystem as well as those considering a first purchase. The split palm support is the most distinctive part of the bundle. Because it is divided into left and right sections, it leaves space in the centre of the desk for a pointing device or trackpad, avoiding the common problem of a full-width wrist rest blocking central input hardware. That layout may also suit users who place the keyboard on top of a laptop, a setup often called “soushin style” in Japan.
PFU originally introduced the separate silicone typing pad as an accessory for users who wanted more flexibility in how they positioned their hands and peripherals. The company has also sold other HHKB bundles this year, including a starter kit, an unmarked-key set and a portable work set, which suggests it is leaning into packaged offers rather than single-item sales. The new bundle appears to continue that approach by grouping items that are designed to work together.
Pricing gives the set its main appeal. PFU says the HYBRID Type-S version would cost ¥49,340 if bought separately, but the bundle price is ¥42,000. The Classic Type-S version falls from ¥44,390 to ¥37,700 when purchased as part of the set. For buyers who were already planning to add the carrying case, typing pad and Type Sticks, the discount makes the package easier to justify.
