Plaud has unveiled the One Explorer Edition, a pair of wireless earbuds equipped with AI features that record, transcribe, and summarise conversations, while also facilitating automated task management through integrated AI assistant capabilities, heralding a new era in wearable productivity devices.
Plaud has moved beyond its AI recorder niche with the Plaud One Explorer Edition, a pair of wireless earbuds and a charging case that the company says can capture conversations, transcribe them and turn them into summaries or other work-ready outputs. The device can record through the earbuds or the case, and it is designed to handle in-person conversations, calls and online meetings. Plaud is pitching the product as a wearable AI system rather than a conventional audio accessory. According to reporting from Gizmodo and Yahoo Finance, pre-orders opened on 27 August 2026 at $249.99.
The hardware includes built-in 4G connectivity via an eSIM, which means it does not need Wi-Fi or a smartphone connection to upload recordings. Each earbud carries 16MB of storage, for 32MB in total, and active noise cancellation is included. Plaud says the earbuds can deliver up to six hours of music playback with ANC switched off, while recording limits are shorter: six hours for face-to-face use and around three hours for calls or podcasts. Chinese-language reporting also says the charging case extends overall battery life to about 25 hours and that the earbuds use three microphones with a range of around two metres.
Plaud is also framing the One around what it calls “agentic” AI. In practical terms, that means the system is intended not only to record and summarise but also to produce draft follow-up tasks, such as emails, documents or presentations. The company says Plaud Agent can connect with services including Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion and Slack, with the aim of reducing the need to move between apps. SiliconANGLE and Forbes both said the device is meant to act as a bridge between speech capture and task execution, though that ambition depends heavily on how well the software works in real use.
The service model remains a key part of the offer. Plaud’s support pages describe a free Starter plan with 300 transcription minutes a month, alongside Pro, Unlimited and Team tiers for heavier users and organisations. Gizmodo reported that the new Explorer Edition also comes with $200 in Plaud Credits for agentic tasks, with extra usage charged separately on top of any subscription. That structure means the earbuds may be relatively affordable at the point of purchase, but the cost of sustained use could rise quickly for anyone who relies on the AI features.
