Portronics unveils collapsible mouse designed for seamless portability

Portronics introduces the Toad Fold, a lightweight, foldable mouse with Bluetooth and wireless support, aimed at remote workers and students seeking ease of transport without sacrificing ergonomics or functionality.

Portronics is trying to remove one of the small but persistent annoyances of mobile work: carrying a mouse that is either too bulky for a slim bag or too cramped to use for long. Its Toad Fold collapses flat with a magnetic snap, allowing it to sit in the same laptop sleeve as the computer itself. At 38g, it is lighter than many conventional travel mice and is meant to disappear into an existing carry setup rather than demand its own space.

That design choice is the main point of the product. When folded, the mouse reduces to a low profile that protects the body without needing a separate case. When opened, it returns to a more conventional ergonomic shape, aiming to avoid the hand fatigue that often comes with ultra-small peripherals. Portronics says the curved form is intended for longer sessions, with the shell shaped to give a fuller grip than the usual flat travel mouse.

Connectivity is equally practical. The Toad Fold supports both Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless, and it can pair with multiple devices, which should make it easier to move between a laptop and an Android tablet without repeated setup. A bundled USB receiver covers the 2.4GHz mode for users who want a steadier connection and do not mind using a dongle.

The mouse also includes adjustable DPI up to 3,200, which gives users some control over pointer sensitivity depending on the task. Portronics says the rechargeable battery charges through USB-C and uses auto-sleep to limit power drain when idle. That combination is aimed at students, remote workers and anyone who carries a laptop from place to place and wants a mouse that is both usable and easy to forget about until needed.
