Beats has cut the price of its Powerbeats Pro 2 earbuds to £199.95, offering a feature-rich, workout-focused alternative to traditional wireless earphones with significant improvements in battery life and heart rate monitoring.
Beats’ Powerbeats Pro 2 have been cut from their usual $249.99 price on Amazon to $199.95 in a limited-time promotion, according to PC Guide. The discount puts the workout-focused earbuds into more competitive territory for buyers who want a premium, exercise-first design rather than a general-purpose pair of wireless earphones.
The Powerbeats Pro 2 are built around a secure earhook fit, a feature Beats says was tested for more than 1,500 hours across athletes with different ear shapes and training styles. That design is meant to hold steady through running, lifting and cycling, while active noise cancelling reduces distraction and Transparency mode allows outside sound in when awareness matters, such as on outdoor routes.
They also add heart rate monitoring, a feature that sets them apart from many rivals. According to PC Guide, the sensors check heart rate more than 100 times a second, and the earbuds are rated IPX4 for sweat and water resistance. Battery life is another strong point, with up to 45 hours of listening time including the charging case, plus a five-minute top-up that can deliver up to 1.5 hours of playback. The case also supports Qi wireless charging.
Reviewers have generally treated the Powerbeats Pro 2 as a serious step forward from the original model. Tom’s Guide said the fit is secure and comfortable, the sound quality is improved and the heart rate monitor makes them a strong option for exercise, though some AirPods Pro features are still missing. Macworld made a similar assessment, praising the lighter, smaller design, stronger audio and long battery life, while noting that the heart rate feature has limits when paired with an Apple Watch. Tom’s Guide’s comparison with AirPods Pro 2 also underlines the product’s appeal for buyers who want earhooks, longer battery life and workout tracking rather than a compact, in-ear design.
