There is still a market for hardware that looks as though it has been lifted from the mid-1980s, even when the internals are entirely modern. Tom’s Hardware reported that the dock is offered in both 10 Gbps and 80 Gbps versions, with an M.2 SSD mount built into the rear of the unit.

Apple has just refreshed the Mac Mini and Mac Studio with new silicon, but Tom’s Hardware noted that the external industrial design remains unchanged, even as the company moves the machines on to Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and faster Ethernet options. In that context, third-party accessories that add character as well as utility are likely to look more appealing to buyers who want their workstation to stand out.

Wokyis is leaning directly into nostalgia rather than merely echoing it. The dock’s miniature Macintosh styling is designed to make a modern Mac Mini or Mac Studio look like a compact vintage computer, while still functioning as a practical hub. The additional ports, integrated screen and SSD support are the parts that give the product its value; the retro shell is what makes it memorable.

That combination of sentiment and function is what gives this category traction. For some users, the attraction is purely visual. For others, it is a way to reclaim desk space with a device that does more than a generic hub while still fitting neatly into an Apple-themed setup.
