SanDisk has unveiled a new line of Pokémon-branded storage devices featuring Mew and Mewtwo, blending collectible design with high-performance data transfer for the franchise’s 30th anniversary.
SanDisk has expanded its Pokémon-branded storage line-up with two new products timed to the franchise’s 30th anniversary: a Mew-themed USB-C flash drive and a Mewtwo-themed portable SSD. The company says both devices are officially licensed by The Pokémon Company International and are available now. According to SanDisk, the release is intended to combine collectable design with everyday file storage.
The portable SSD is the more capable of the pair. SanDisk says the Mewtwo edition reaches read speeds of up to 1,000MB/s, comes in 500GB and 1TB versions, and is built to withstand drops of up to two metres. The company positions it for larger media libraries and creative work, while also emphasising the raised, tactile Mewtwo design on the casing.
The Mew USB-C flash drive is the smaller, simpler option. SanDisk says it offers up to 128GB of storage in a pocket-sized form factor and is aimed at moving photos, videos and other files between compatible phones, tablets and computers. Digital Camera World reported that the flash drive is also intended for cross-device use, with read speeds up to 250MB/s.
The products follow SanDisk’s earlier Pokémon collaboration in 2024, when it released microSD cards for Nintendo Switch featuring Pikachu, Gengar and Snorlax. The new line broadens that partnership beyond Nintendo storage accessories and into general consumer devices, with support that varies by platform: SanDisk lists Windows and macOS compatibility for both drives, while the SSD also supports Android, iPhone and iPad workflows through the company’s apps and Files integration.
