Sanwa Supply introduces two strap-style USB Type-C cables designed for travel, featuring high-power support, quick attachment systems, and durable construction, aiming to streamline charging on the go.
Sanwa Supply has launched two strap-style USB Type-C cables, the 500-USB105BK and 500-USB106BK, through its Sanwa Direct online shop. The company says the products are designed to be carried with a bag, keys or a smartphone case, so users are less likely to leave a charging cable behind when travelling or commuting.
Both models support USB Power Delivery at up to 240W, which means they are not limited to phones and tablets. According to Sanwa Supply, the cables can also be used with compatible laptops that draw higher power over USB-C, provided they are paired with the right charger.
The two versions differ mainly in length and carrying style. The 500-USB105BK is the shorter model at about 22cm and costs ¥1,618 before tax. The 500-USB106BK is about 32cm long and is shaped as a wrist strap, with a pre-tax price of ¥1,709. Both use a round mesh construction intended to reduce tangling inside a bag.
Sanwa Supply says the cables attach via a ring-style fitting and a strap holder that can be fixed to a smartphone case. The cable can be detached quickly when needed, which the company argues is useful in places such as cafés, offices and on trains. The shorter model is also pitched as a neat option for use with a power bank.
The cables include eMarker support and are rated for USB 2.0 data transfer at up to 480Mbps, so they can handle basic file transfers as well as charging. Sanwa Supply also says the attachment hardware uses zinc alloy and the cable structure is built to withstand up to 5kg of pull force, adding a durability claim to what is otherwise a compact carry accessory.
