TESSAN’s AERO 5000 is entering a crowded market for MagSafe-compatible battery packs, but its pitch is unusually specific: keep the footprint close to a wallet, reduce heat and use a titanium finish to stand apart from the usual plastic slabs. The device is 6.9mm thick and carries a 5,000mAh battery, placing it among the slimmest magnetic power banks now being pushed to market.
According to TESSAN, the AERO 5000 uses a pure-cobalt semi-solid-state battery core called SolidSafe. The company says that design is intended to lower heat build-up and reduce the risk of thermal runaway, a failure mode in which a battery overheats uncontrollably. That is an important claim in a category where thinness can work against thermal management. The case is finished in iPhone-grade titanium alloy, which TESSAN presents as part aesthetic choice, part durability play.
The charger supports up to 15 watts of wireless output and up to 20 watts through its USB-C port, giving it more flexibility than a wireless-only pack. That wired port also makes it useful for smaller accessories such as AirPods cases, where a cable can be more practical than magnetic charging. Notebookcheck reported that pre-orders are listed at $69, with deliveries expected to begin in October 2026.
TESSAN is not alone in pursuing ultra-thin, semi-solid-state portable chargers. AndroidGuys noted earlier this year that BMX had already introduced a 5,000mAh power bank using similar battery chemistry and a titanium-copper build, highlighting a wider move in the accessories market towards slimmer designs and safer cell construction. For buyers, the AERO 5000’s appeal will likely come down to whether TESSAN’s safety claims and premium materials justify the price in a segment where most products compete on capacity alone.
