TOZO's Open X2 Pro: redefining open-ear earbuds with AI and high-end features

TOZO launches the Open X2 Pro, a premium open-ear earbud blending ambient awareness, AI assistant integration, and wellness monitoring, setting a new standard in lightweight, connected audio devices.

TOZO is pushing its Open X2 Pro as more than a pair of open-ear earbuds. Following the model’s global launch, the company says it has drawn strong consumer interest for combining ambient awareness with higher-end audio, gesture controls and a suite of AI tools. TOZO’s own product page describes the device as an open-ear earbud with Bluetooth 6.0, LDAC support, Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, a touchscreen charging case and up to 36 hours of playback with the case. Gizmochina reported that the earbuds debuted first in China at 1,299 yuan, about $190.

The design is central to TOZO’s pitch. Unlike sealed in-ear models, the Open X2 Pro sits outside the ear canal, which TOZO says helps users remain aware of their surroundings while listening. The company says the earhooks use a dual-axis adjustment system to improve fit across different ear shapes, while the lightweight frame is meant to reduce fatigue during long sessions. That positioning makes the product especially relevant for commuting, exercise and office use, where comfort and situational awareness matter as much as sound quality.

On audio performance, TOZO says the model supports the LDAC codec for high-resolution wireless playback, while its open-ear tuning is intended to preserve detail without blocking outside sound. Gizmochina reported 15.4mm drivers and a focus on balanced output, with deep bass, clear mids and crisp highs. A separate review said the earbuds also support AAC, include Bluetooth 6.0 and offer IPX7 water resistance, though it noted the absence of wireless charging, a Find-My-Earbuds function and support for newer broadcast audio standards such as Auracast.

TOZO is also leaning heavily into software. Its product page says the Open X2 Pro supports head-gesture control, real-time translation, voice assistant integration and AI voice notes, all accessible through the company’s app and AI assistant. The charging case adds an LCD or touchscreen display for quick controls and battery checks, reducing the need to reach for a phone. These functions place the device in a growing category of earbuds that act as both audio accessories and lightweight interface devices.

The company has also framed the Open X2 Pro as a wellness product. TOZO says the earbuds can monitor neck posture through built-in sensors and AI algorithms, then connect users to stretching and exercise guidance in its app. In its latest announcement, TOZO said the model has also picked up wider recognition through design awards, including the Red Dot Award, the MUSE Design Awards and the Global Sources Best of Innovation Award, which the company is using to support an expanding global partner push.
