UGREEN has launched a 500W vehicle power inverter in China, offering two AC sockets, USB-C and USB-A charging, with output rising from 150W to 500W when connected directly to a car battery.
UGREEN has put a 500W car power inverter on sale in China through JD.com, pricing the unit at 599 yuan. The device combines two AC sockets with one USB-A port and one USB-C port, and is aimed at drivers who need mains-style power in a vehicle or when parked away from home.
According to IT之家, the inverter measures 207.5mm by 89mm by 54.5mm and uses flame-retardant PC housing with a metal-painted finish. A digital display on the front shows input and output voltage as well as power draw in real time. The AC outlets are fitted with protective covers that require around 45N of force to open, a design intended to reduce accidental contact during daily use.
The product supports two power paths. When connected directly to a car battery with alligator clips, it can deliver up to 500W in total, which should be sufficient for small appliances such as a rice cooker or a projector. When powered from a cigarette-lighter socket, output is limited to 150W, which is more suitable for devices such as phones, laptops and car fridges. JD.com’s listing also describes the inverter as using a pure sine wave output and includes protection against over-voltage, under-voltage, short circuit, over-power and over-temperature conditions.
For charging smaller devices, the inverter provides a 30W USB-C port with PD support and a 22.5W USB-A port with SCP support. When both USB ports are used together, their combined output is capped at 24W. That makes the unit a more versatile in-car power source than a basic socket adaptor, although its useful output still depends heavily on how it is connected to the vehicle’s electrical system.
